- there are two different types of Zebra: Plains  and Mountain Zebra
- they have a shadow stripe (Mountain Zebras do not have the shadow stripe)
- grazer
- stripes are used for heatregulations
- horseflies and other insects gets irritated by the stripes and they do not bite the Zebras (or at least bite them a lot less)
- you can detect if a Zebra is healthy or not with looking at the mane. Strong and up means healthy, weak and down on the side means sick
- Zebras look always a little fat, because they eat grass and are hindgutfermenter --> they produce a lot of gas
- baby Zebras can stand within 10 min, walk within 30min and run with mommy after 60min
- baby Zebras have almost the same length of legs of the adult, so that they are not so easy to see by predators
- the stripes are a nice camouflage, predators see in black and white, and so for them it is not easy to detect one Zebra within a group
